Misa Yamishita has been Human Resources Leader at GE Healthcare Asia Pacific since February 2009 with responsibility for Australia and New Zealand, ASEAN, Japan and Korea and a $2+ billion business with more than 3,500 employees. In this role Misa leads in transforming the organisation, its people and culture, to respond to, and be ahead of, the very dynamic and fast-changing needs of the healthcare industry. Previously, Misa was Director of Human Resources at GE Japan, the corporate function of General Electric Company and before that General Manager of Human Resources at then GE Toshiba Silicones (GETOS), GE’s arm for the Silicones business in Asia. A Japanese native and based in Tokyo, Misa has been working in culturally diverse environments at global companies for most of her career. Her Asia roles have naturally brought her opportunities to work with diverse populations not only in Asia but also globally. Through such experiences, she has developed her cultural savvy-ness, adaptability and skill-sets to be an effective and yet inclusive leader. Misa received her master's degree in Communication from Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania. She received her bachelor's degree at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies, majoring in English and Linguistics.
